2015 Homestead Quarter Error – The Strange Looking Window in Center

The US mint released the Homestead Quarter February 9, 2015, the 26th release of the America the Beautiful series. The quarter portrays the Homestead National Monument of America on the coin’s reverse.

There are well over 100 varieties of errors, all with the P mint mark. Most errors involve doubling in the center window of the Homestead pictured on the reverse of the quarter. Additionally, there are several types of “Snow” that seemingly accumulate on top of the house. Below are a few examples.

These errors generally are not very valuable with the exception of the “snow” die break and reflected pump. Minor errors sell for a few dollars, large snow die breaks and reflected pumps can sell between $20-50.

  1. I have one of these quarters with the whole back picture upsidedown in relation to the head any idea what it’s worth

  2. I have a 2015 homestead quarter that seems to have the entire reverse side a little off. The bottom rim is thick and the top is barely there.

  3. I have one of these Homestead 2015 P quarters with a die chip chimney on the roof – I haven’t found anyone else with this – basically the chimney is cut and a large “second” chimney is to it’s right

  4. I have two 2015 quarters – one with a break (separation) at the end of the pump handle. The other one has what appears to be writing or symbols in the frame above the eight (8) pane window. I’ve researched and haven’t been able to identify these markings on any other coins. Would appreciate any information regarding these observations. Thanks.

  6. I have a Nebraska P Quarter with little to no ridge on both sides. There is a mild flat spot on edge at bottom of face yet there is still the lllll edge over the flat spot and a blob above the flat edge that covers the letters after T in quarter to the first L in dollar.
