The US mint released the Great Basin Quarter June 10, 2013, the 19th release of the America the Beautiful series. The quarter portrays the Great Basin National Park on the coin’s reverse.
On the reverse of the coin, on the top, middle, and bottom branches of the Bristlecone Pine Tree, some doubling can be observed along the edges and occasionally along the trunk.
These errors can be easily missed as the texture of the tree can mask the error.
I have a Great Basin quarter that shows definite shadows in the mint mark “P”. The phase, “IN GOD WE TRUST” has a shadow. Also the horizontal components of the words, AMERICA & Dollar show a doubling. Is this an error that has been reported?
I have just found a 2013 Great Basin quarter with an error, the coin is extra thick. It’s about the thickness of a Nickel and the edges are smooth. Anyone know if it’s valuable?
Not valuable, it’s post mint damage usually from someone starting to hammer the edges to turn it into a ring, it’s a lengthy process that people start because they think it’ll be so cool, but they don’t realize how much time and effort it actually takes to complete so they lose interest and give up
I have 2013 Great Basin Nevada quarter that has two teardrops under Washingtons eye
I got one with an inner circle on the front!
I also have one like that.
Ring of death, it’s from excessive use in machines with coin slots like vending machines or self checkouts. Not valuable
I have one and the tree is all scratched. There are some leaves showing at the top. Is this of any value
Why is it…..on all the state quarters the year of when the quarter was made and the year the state became a state is displayed but not on this quarter?
This is a national park quarter. Part of the America Beautiful series
I have a 2013 great basin quarter w no side reeds and half side clad. Anyone know about this?
Maybe a broad struck (could be worth big bucks) you should have it graded and/or look further into it.
